"I do hope you write the book and tell the story and I hope it  brings some closure and peace to the Bourque family. I know how much they have suffered as a result of Loretta's death" ---Gov. Edwin Edwards, Federal Prison, Fort Worth,Tx, 6/10/03

"I have read your draft of Dead Family Walking and I compliment you on your detailed and well documented research into the facts of the case.  Your exhaustive research has made you more knowledgeable of the facts of the case than I, or anyone in law enforcement ever was."
---Dracos Burke, 86,  Prosecutor of Sonnier Trials, 3/05

"This is a very powerful deeply moving manuscript...a very compelling and moving read, written with much passion and conviction. The urgent points driving the material are well rendered and poignant. The experience of the Bourque family is palpably conveyed with strong use of dialogue and solid characterization of the many lives involved. You  really make their experience and point of view live on the page!  This is sure to be a very powerful, very impactful book."
---Judy Kellum, Hollywoodscripts, 6/05

"This manuscript was the most difficult read of my life!  I cried for four hours having to stop and talk to my wife. Very emotional. What hurt me the most was the pain suffered by the Bourques. Very impressed with the accuracy, brutality and research. I could not put it down!
---Russell Duplantis, Homicide Detective on Sonnier Cases, 3/05

"Being familiar with Dead Man Walking and knowing the truth of what actually happened to the victim's  family, it makes you realize the Dead Man Walking truly belongs on the shelf in the library in the Fiction category.  What happened to the Bourque family should never happen to anyone in America and if you can read this story and not cry, then you're a better man than I."
---Steve Durr, Retired School Teacher, 3/05

"As a parent of teen age children, I became extremely angry about the fact that a murderer was made to look like something other than what he was: a sleeze-ball who took two innocent lives and should not have been allowed to spend one more day on this earth after his capture.  I have zero tolerance for criminals who ruin families and destroy lives.  I also have very little tolerance for people who fight for their rights while ignoring victim's rights."
---Charles D'Agostino, Business Executive, 4/05

The Bourques were never allowed the normal process of healing mentally and spiritually from their heart's amputation. Being devout Catholics, 'the norm' would be to look to the church for support and healing. Again, this need for spiritual stability was stolen by Sister Prejean
